DISCLAIMER

It's crucial to bear in mind that as you explore women's stories through Feminist Friday, you may come across instances where their actions or choices were unsavoury, bad, or even deeply regrettable. Instead of excluding these women entirely, we've made the choice to include them in our discussions. We firmly believe that doing otherwise would be a disservice.

The women explored in Feminist Friday lived in vastly different times spanning thousands of years, witnessing profound changes in the world and in humanity itself. Consequently, some of their beliefs and values may appear outdated, laughable, or offensive today. However, we encourage you to view these women as individuals navigating a world that often sought to control, shame, restrict, subjugate and harm.

It is our philosophy to never turn a blind eye to the darker aspects of history. It's perfectly acceptable to hold reservations about them (we do, too!), but we believe it is important to also acknowledge their accomplishments within the context of their era and their place in the world.

We want to emphasize that the views and actions of the women featured here are not necessarily our own. We are committed to an intersectional approach and stand firmly against hate in all its forms. Our goal is to shed light on the diverse experiences and contributions of women throughout history while promoting understanding and equality.
